Dr. Lynel Zimmerman-Thompson grew up in a small rural town in northern Maine, where her love for animals blossomed.
While studying as a pre-med major at the University of Maine at Orono, her career focus shifted after working at the university dairy farm and as a veterinary assistant at an emergency practice. Witnessing the depth of the human-animal bond during an animal's passing inspired her to dedicate her life to veterinary care.
Dr. Zimmerman-Thompson earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from North Carolina State University in 2010, after completing her undergraduate studies in Small Animal and Pre-Veterinary Science at the University of Maine in 2006. Her clinical interests include Emergency Medicine and Critical Care, where she finds great fulfillment in managing challenging cases.
Outside of work, Dr. Zimmerman-Thompson is a proud mother of five active children and an animal mom to two dogs and two cats. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, running, and spending time with her family. Her dedication to caring for animals and the families who love them is at the heart of her practice.
